One week to go and we are in full panic mode. So much to do. We are revisiting one of our favorite themes with spiders again. We have a new spider addition and it is HUGE.  We also "dug deep" with a new illusion that should have those with a fear of heights or falling sweating a bit.

Also this year we created the most detailed and time consuming prop we have ever built.  The Beldam or Other Mother from Coraline will be visiting Moaning Acres this year. She was completely created from scratch right here in our haunted garage.  She is a one of a kind creation and we are pretty proud of her.

That's all for now. We are super excited for this year. It should be another great year. Happy Halloween!!!

Wow Halloween is coming fast. It has been forever since I posted on here but here is the update.  We have several new props this year including one of the most complicated props I have ever built. It should be a real show stopper if everything works as it should.

Our theme this year is witches. We have sculpted two new monsters.  A traditional witch and a "conjure wife" witch from an old southern folk tale about where the barred owl gets its call. I have so many projects I wanted to make happen this year but time is our enemy right now and many of them are not going to make it off the drawing board.

I hope the projects we have managed to finish will not disappoint.  This year our witch burning at the stake prop should definitely t...

It's over... For now.  What an amazing Halloween.  Moaning Acres gave out approximately 600 treats this year which makes this one of our most attended years.  It was an awesome experience.  The weather was a dream.  I have wanted a night like we had for years and I finally got it. NO WIND.  A small miracle where I live.  I was able to blanket a good portion of the grave yard with low lying fog. It looked great.

We had a ton of great comments.  Everyone seemed to really appreciate what we do.  Lots of screams.  Like usual the air cannon was the thing which made most people scream.  The spider was also great.  He did lose a leg towards the end of the night but that should be fixable.

I tried something new this year and walked around as a zombie...

Well, we have finished quite a few projects and had to scrap a few other ideas due to time and money constraints.  The haunted tree came out pretty good and I am very glad to be done melting plastic with a heat gun.  I have been working on a zombie who sits inside of a half buried coffin and reaches out toward the guests.  I'm not thrilled with the way that one is turning out but it is almost finished.

We came up with a great idea for the last leg of the walk up this year.  The last few steps before getting to the door trick or treaters will have to walk past a giant spitting spider that lunges at them and then walk through a tunnel of webs complete with hanging spider corpse victims that they will have to push aside.  Going to be a very in...

So, it has been awhile since I updated this.  I have been working on several new scary props and ideas. I created a new haunted mirror prop which I have been thinking about for awhile. Pretty simple to make but very scary.  I think it will be a great addition to this years Halloween display.

I have also been working on a new scary tree for the grave yard.  It is coming along nicely and I will be sure to post some pics when it is finished.

I have so many more projects I want to finish but I already feel like I am running out of time. I would love to work on more masks but that has definitely taken a back seat at this point. So many scary ideas, so little time. Oh well, I guess I better quit blogging and get back to all of these unfinished p...
